About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Skills and Simulation Education, the Simulation Center Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center including the prioritization, organization, and development of innovative lab programming and special projects. As a member of the Dean's Leadership Team, the Director will collaborate closely with the College Dean’s Office, Unit Leaders and Program Directors to design and deliver programming and optimize use of resources to meet program and College goals. The Director is responsible for operationalizing the Goldstein Simulation Center strategic plan that elevates simulation across the Bouvé College of Health Sciences in all locations of the Northeastern University global network and supports all units within the College. The position requires a high-level ability to organize priorities, work collaboratively across disciplines and campuses, and complete tasks in a timely manner. The successful candidate must be entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and possess strong creative, leadership and organizational skills. The candidate must have in-depth simulation education knowledge and hands-on application.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience working with educators or with strong record of effective project and organizational/team management.
Previous demonstrated experience in clinical care and education is preferred.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Goldstein Center Daily Operations (50%)
Provide day-to-day operations of the Center including the organization, scheduling, development and delivery of innovative simulation programming, special projects, and research efforts
Coordinate with units regarding programming, scheduling and proper use of Goldstein Center space
Develop and maintain a prioritized calendar of daily/monthly activities each semester
Maintain and sustain a simulation case repository, blueprint template, case review & approval processes, and simulation assessment (curricular and evaluation) in compliance with Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) standards
Create and maintain a system of metrics/dashboard for reporting use of the center and develop a reporting methodology to disseminate the data in annual reports as needed
Maintain the Goldstein Simulation Center as a clean, safe, and operational facility and optimal learning environment
Support Strategic and Programmatic Needs in the Goldstein Center (35%)
Manage the Goldstein Simulation Center's operational and programmatic needs, including budgetary planning (day-to-day and annual), fiscal/business operations, resources, equipment, and personnel/team management
Evaluate, implement learning management software to effectively operationalize 1) simulation development, 2) simulation offerings, 3) simulation quality assurance, 4) simulation continuous quality improvement, 5) trainee registration and participation tracking, 6) A/V archiving capabilities, and 7) simulation compliance tracking for program-specific accreditation requirements
Procure appropriate simulation hardware and technology (e.g. computers/ LCDs/ cameras/ audio), patient simulators and task trainers, and related patient care equipment and supplies using a prioritization process that aligns with the Center’s strategic plan and College goals
Initiate and oversee any contracts, including maintenance agreements, related to capital equipment and technologies in the Center
Update and maintain website content for the Center in collaboration with MarCom, advancement, admissions, and other entities
In conjunction with users, establish and enforce policies and procedures that promote the safe, effective use of the Goldstein Center and best practices in simulation education
Co-Chair the Bouvé Simulation User Group to ensure 1) the Center meets the needs of the units across the network and 2) bi-directional communication is promoted between the Center and academic units
Recruit, train, and support volunteers, technical staff, student workers and other Goldstein Center employees
Develop appropriate policies and usage rates for research supported in the Center and use by parties outside the College
In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Skills and Simulation Education,
Ensure the Center’s strategic plan is current, aligns with Bouvé and University initiatives, and drives resource decision-making
Develop and grow partnerships with other colleges and external entities to increase usage and visibility of the Center
Expand AR/XR/VR, digital health, and AI application-based technologies within the Center that promote data, technological, and human literacies
Achieve and maintain accreditation by the Society of Simulation in Healthcare
Support academic and research activities (15%)
Develop and lead training/ professional development sessions on best practices in simulation education for faculty and the Bouvé community including, but not limited to, pre-brief and debrief best practices, scenario development and programming, utilization of simulator equipment, and updates related to simulation education
Provide information to support grant submissions as requested
Support active research through access to Center facilities within Bouvé, across colleges interested in collaborating, and the network
In conjunction with College units and the Dean’s Office, develop procedures and guidelines for use of the facility to support new and developmental academic programs (e.g. continuing education, certificates, courses, and other simulation related activities with current or prospective students, faculty, partners, donors, alumni, etc.)
Remain up to date with simulation technology and software through professional development and involvement with appropriate conferences and organizations
Participate in philanthropic opportunities, enrollment management events, and visits/tours related to the Center as they arise with occasional evening/ weekend events.
