Job Description:
SUMMARY: Responsible for the support of computer systems and peripherals, premise wiring, telecommunications and network equipment, audio/visual equipment and selected software on the property. Supports end users and guests in a 24x7x365 environment with any problems on the above equipment and systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services. Configuration of routing and switching equipment, and assignment of routing protocols and routing table configuration. Maintain network software, servers, and virtual environments with proactive monitoring, scalability, troubleshooting, security & software updates, and provide stability. Implementation of new solutions, design, deployment, and improving resilience of the current environment. Identify user needs and provide excellent communications skills. This includes documentation, providing frequent communication, follow up, and knowledge transfer. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, IP voice systems, smartphones, and software deployment. Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with vendors on network optimization. Support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy and under guidance of the Network Engineer. Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information and managing projects. Variable schedule to support a 24x7 environment that includes some travel and rotating on-call. Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Performs excellent customer service at all time. Maintains a consistent and regular attendance record. Performs any reasonable request made by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Although this position does not directly supervise any one person, the Network Administrator indirectly supervises the activities of all system users on property. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One to three years’ experience in a computer support organization required, with casino related experience preferred. Degree in Computer Science or related area; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess effective communication skills and be computer-literate, with superior troubleshooting and problem solving skills. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules and regulations, technical procedure manuals, instructions and basic correspondence, reports and memos. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from system users. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
