About The Finance Team

Based within the Beauty Division of the business, The Finance Team is responsible for invoicing and receiving cash from customers, paying suppliers whilst maximizing internal cashflow, monitoring operational overhead spend and maximizing value add to EBITDA. As the business expands and takes on new challenges in the form of acquired businesses or new ventures, finance is there to support every step of the way, leading to dynamic and challenging roles – no two days are the same! Common characteristics among our team are the ability to drive change, adaptability and resourcefulness, to ensure we can keep pace with the business, without compromising on financial control or sales performance.

Why be a Ledger Assistant at THG Beauty?

Reporting to Ledger Supervisor, the Ledger Assistant is responsible for aiding the finance team, including both financial accounts and management accounts. Daily tasks will vary between invoicing our customers, reconciling bank transactions to paying our suppliers.

As a Ledger Assistant, you’ll:

Sustain high levels of customer service when communicating with our suppliers and customers
Run weekly and monthly reports to support reconciliations and month end
To process invoices and credit notes accurately and timely
Ability to work cross-functionally and prioritize time sensitive tasks
To produce accurate month end reports across purchase and sales ledger
To follow all company polices and procedures, raising any concerns to the Finance Director
To assist in maintaining bank reconciliations
To maintain debtors and creditor balances
Producing statement reconciliations for both customers and suppliers
To assist and perform any other accounts duties as and when required
Communicating effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues and managers.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety for yourself and other persons who may be affected by your work
To cooperate with regards to all company health & safety measures, following H&S training when using equipment
Report to a person in authority any work situation which may represent a serious or imminent danger to health & safety or any shortcomings in the protection arrangements to health & safety. In respect of any hazards remember ‘see it, report it’
Helping to promote a positive working atmosphere within the company.
Any other duties that may be required from time to time.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

Ledger or accounting experience
Highly numerate with experience working in excel
Strong analytical skills
Attention to detail
Entrepreneurial mindset
Commercially aware
Driven to achieve results and improvements
Must be a core team player, able to work cross functions
