Job description

About Us

Yankee Home Care is a locally owned home care agency led by a registered nurse. We help older adults live safely and comfortably in their own homes. We're small, local, and we take care of our caregivers.

Before your first visit, we'll introduce you to your client in person and review the care plan with you. You won't be sent into a new home unprepared.

We're growing our caregiver team and looking for compassionate, dependable people who want to grow with us.

What You'll Do

  • Help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping
  • Drive clients to appointments and help with errands and shopping
  • Provide companionship and help clients enjoy their day
  • Remind clients to take medications
  • Complete a short note after each visit and report any changes you notice

Pay and Benefits

  • $21–$25 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and applicable shift differentials
  • Flexible part-time and per diem scheduling
  • Paid training, including training specific to each client
  • Paid sick time starting on your first day
  • Paid travel time between clients
  • Mileage reimbursement at the full IRS rate
  • Client assignments matched to your skills, location, and availability
  • Ongoing dementia care training
  • $500 bonus when you refer someone who stays

Who We're Looking For

We welcome experienced caregivers, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Home Health Aides (HHAs), and individuals interested in starting a career in caregiving.

Previous caregiving experience or certification is helpful but not required. If you're new to professional caregiving, YHC provides paid, RN-led training and competency validation before you provide personal care independently.

You also need:

  • To be dependable, patient, and kind
  • To communicate effectively with clients, families, and the YHC team
  • To be able to perform the physical responsibilities of caregiving
  • To pass required background screening
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation

Where You'll Work

You'll provide care in clients' homes throughout Ipswich, Hamilton, Wenham, Topsfield, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea.

We consider your location and availability when matching you with clients. You won't be required to report to our Ipswich office before every assignment.

Who Succeeds Here

YHC caregivers are warm, dependable, and trusted by families. If you want to know your clients, be known by your agency, and feel prepared for every assignment, you'll fit right in.
