Position Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Category: Quality Assurance / Software Engineering

Seniority: Mid-Level

Location: Hybrid, based in Medellín, Colombia

What you will be doing:

• Drive a high-ownership QA culture and ensure exceptional product quality.

• Focus primarily on API-level testing, serving as the main technical focus of the role.

• Design, implement, and maintain REST API test automation using an obje ct-oriented programming language.

•  Independently analyze API contracts, application code, business rules, and system behavior to build comprehensive automated coverage.

•  Handle UI test automation responsibilities alongside API testing.

•  Contribute to designing, implementing, and enhancing automation frameworks for both API and UI testing to improve testing efficiency and overall product stability.

• Actively participate in requirements analysis and unblock processes efficiently.

• Collaborate closely with distributed product and development teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and maintaining REST API test automation.

• Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java.

• Experience with UI test automation.

• Proven ability to design, implement, and enhance automation frameworks for both API and UI testing.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

• Commitment to understanding the product domain deeply.

• Proactive communication skills for effective collaboration with distributed teams.

• Ability to work independently and take high ownership of the QA process.
