Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Vice President, Client Partnership based in the United States.

This is a senior executive opportunity for an accomplished client partnership leader to oversee strategic relationships, drive portfolio growth, and strengthen business performance across major client accounts. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders while guiding multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality digital, creative, and technology solutions. The role combines strategic relationship management with hands-on commercial leadership, including revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence. You will shape engagement strategies, identify new business opportunities, and ensure that client needs translate into impactful solutions. Working closely with department leaders and delivery teams, you will foster accountability, collaboration, and innovation across complex engagements. This remote leadership position is suited to an experienced executive who can balance client advocacy, business ownership, and team development.

Accountabilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring strong relationships, high-quality delivery, and sustainable commercial performance.

  • Act as a senior advisor and trusted partner to client executives, building relationships across stakeholder groups and understanding their strategic priorities, challenges, and future needs.

  • Oversee client portfolio health, balancing relationship development, service quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

  • Lead and develop account management teams responsible for day-to-day client relationships and engagement operations, promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Manage complex client engagements valued at $10 million or more, maintaining strong standards for quality, efficiency, and financial performance.

  • Guide multidisciplinary teams of 20 or more professionals, working through team leaders and department heads to coordinate delivery and achieve client objectives.

  • Develop account growth strategies, identify new opportunities, and establish plans and targets aligned with client business goals.

  • Expand relationships with key client executives, maintain engagement beyond individual projects, and develop long-term strategic partnerships.

  • Oversee portfolio profitability, partnering with executive and delivery leaders to develop and negotiate statements of work, manage budgets, and ensure engagements remain commercially sound.

  • Identify emerging client needs and recommend strategies, services, and solutions that address both immediate objectives and longer-term business opportunities.

  • Manage client expectations, maintain service excellence, gather feedback, and ensure that concerns are addressed effectively.

  • Work with engagement teams to improve forecasting, resource planning, staffing, and prioritization of deliverables.

  • Lead strategic business development initiatives, including new business pitches, requests for proposals (RFPs), account acquisition, master services agreement (MSA) discussions, and contract negotiations.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling executive presentations, strategic recommendations, and well-structured business documents.

  • Mentor, support, and learn from diverse teams while encouraging professional development and strong cross-functional collaboration.

  • Requirements:

    • At least 15 years of relevant professional experience, including leadership of complex, large-scale client engagements within a digital agency, consultancy, or technology services organization.

    • Proven experience managing client portfolios with more than $10 million in annual or total engagement value, with accountability for quality, operational efficiency, and financial health.

    • Demonstrated success leading large multidisciplinary teams of 20 or more professionals, with the ability to develop leaders and build a culture of ownership and accountability.

    • Extensive experience in strategic account management, client relationship development, and business growth.

    • Strong ability to define engagement strategies and collaborate with department heads, discipline leaders, and project teams to translate business objectives into effective delivery plans.

    • Track record of developing executive-level client relationships, expanding stakeholder networks, and identifying opportunities for long-term partnership growth.

    • Experience managing portfolio profitability, negotiating statements of work, overseeing budgets, and ensuring engagements are delivered within agreed commercial parameters.

    • Ability to anticipate client needs, identify opportunities that may not yet be apparent to stakeholders, and connect proposed solutions to broader strategic objectives.

    • Strong client service orientation, including experience managing expectations, maintaining delivery standards, and incorporating client feedback.

    • Experience with forecasting, resource allocation, staffing strategies, and prioritization across multiple concurrent engagements.

    • Proven business development capabilities, including leading RFP responses, developing pitches, winning new accounts, and negotiating MSAs and commercial contracts.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities and the capacity to develop persuasive, strategically positioned materials.

    • A collaborative and inclusive leadership approach, with a genuine commitment to mentoring, encouraging, and learning from talented and diverse teams.

    • Passion for digital innovation, creative work, technology, and the development of exceptional user and brand experiences.

    • Benefits:

      • Annual salary range of $215,000–$255,000 USD.

      • Remote working arrangement within New York State.

      • Senior executive-level opportunity to lead major client partnerships and influence portfolio strategy and business performance.

      • Opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams across design, technology, and creative disciplines.

      • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, inclusion, and professional development.
