Job description

Position Summary:
The Kitchen Staff Support (Dishwasher) plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This individual ensures the proper care of equipment and follows sanitation standards to support daily food service operations. All staff are expected to work collaboratively within our professional learning community (PLC).

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for washing dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Maintains a clean kitchen and keeps the dish area organized and free of clutter.
• Sets up dish stations, including dishwashing machines and sinks.
• Maintains clean, dry floors throughout the shift.
• Cleans and sanitizes storage areas, including freezers and refrigerators.
• Assists in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of the kitchen.
• Assists in storing and organizing food deliveries.
• Helps the team transport meals upstairs.
• Cleans and refills the Bistro’s small fridges with milk every morning.
• Reviews milk expiration dates and ensures older ones are placed in the small Bistro fridges first.
• Helps the kitchen team move and transport heavy boxes.
• Follows sanitation and cleaning procedures correctly.
• Ensures that dishwashers are in working order and reports problems to the Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High energy and excellent communication skills.
• ServSafe certification (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work independently and follow assigned tasks.
• Passion for learning and contributing to a team.
• Fluent in Spanish.
• Availability to perform duties during scheduled work hours.

Work Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule & Attendance: M-F, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
