Director of Donor Relations

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Director of Donor Relations will spearhead development efforts as Midland Memorial Foundation (MMF) continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Director will have the opportunity to increase donor retention, upgrade giving levels, and build long-term relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

•Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive donor relations and engagement strategy to increase donor retention, upgrade giving levels, and build long-term relationships

•Manage mineral rights and oil royalty payments, including division orders

•Assist in production of quarterly newsletter and MMF website, which may include writing articles or copyediting content.

•Aid in campaign creation and operations which may include brainstorming of branding strategies, marketing material, as well as collaborating with other departments such as marketing and hospital leadership to execute components of campaign.

•Act as a liaison to the MMH Food Pantry.

•Manage Donor Wall content, names, endowments, etc.

•Facilitate the planning of the Rosalind Redfern Grover Speakers Series.

•Facilitate the planning of the Estate Planning Seminar

•Assist in planning the annual Board of Governor’s Dinner (including invitation, program, seating chart, florals, agendas, photography)

•Certification reimbursement requests

•Manage the employee nursing and professional reimbursement program.

•Manage the employee scholarship program: field questions, collect applications, schedule meetings and interviews.

•Update Foundation website with current donor information, new homepage sliders, etc.

•Coordinate Memorial Forum meetings: schedule meetings, take minutes, put together agenda, etc.

•Produce agendas and take minutes for committee meetings, including oil and gas and governance

•Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive donor relations and engagement strategy to increase donor retention, upgrade giving levels, and build long-term relationships

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

•Proven track record in major gift fundraising, donor cultivation, and stewardship; experience managing campaigns and donor databases.

•Strategic thinking, relationship building, financial analysis, event coordination, and proficiency in donor management software

•Strong written/oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and alignment with the organization’s mission Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary, as well as organizational skills.
