Job description
Summer 2027 Grant Funded Pulliam Journalism Fellowship in Sports
IndyStar, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a college student or recent graduate with a talent for video and sports journalism to join our award-winning staff for an exciting and demanding summer fellowship.
The fellow will work 40 hours per week, covering a full range of assignments — including news, sports and features — with an equal focus on stills and video (including social video). There will also be opportunities to work on long-term projects, photo pages and documentary videos. Night and weekend shifts will be required.
We are looking for someone who is highly driven and eager to generate story ideas. The right candidate will be a sponge, ready to absorb knowledge from this veteran staff.
Why should I apply for this journalism program?
You'll be a member of our newsroom, work hard and gain valuable journalism experience as part of the prestigious Pulliam Journalism Fellowship.
You'll get paid, too. Fellows earn $720/week ($18/hour) for the 10-week summer program.
IndyStar supplies a laptop and full range of camera equipment. Mileage is also covered.
Am I qualified for this journalism program?
Recent graduates and college juniors, seniors and graduate students enrolled in a journalism or related degree program as of Nov. 1, 2026, are eligible.
