At Big Bend Hospice, our RN On-Call team provides comfort, guidance, and expert nursing support during some of life's most important moments. As a FT RN On-Call, you'll serve as a trusted clinical resource for patients, families, caregivers, and staff throughout our eight-county service area during evenings, weekends, holidays, and urgent situations.

🩺 What You'll Do

✅ Provide after-hours nursing support, assessment, and telephone triage

✅ Respond to patient and family concerns with compassion and clinical expertise

✅ Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members

✅ Assist with symptom management, medication concerns, and urgent patient needs

✅ Complete accurate and timely EMR documentation

✅ Educate patients, caregivers, and families on disease progression and comfort-focused care

✅ Support quality hospice care through collaboration, communication, and sound clinical judgment

✅ Serve as a valuable clinical resource for patients, families, and fellow team members

Schedule:  This position works three 12-hour shifts per week, weeknights, weekend nights, and weekend days.

Qualifications

🎯 What We're Looking For

We're seeking a compassionate, dependable, and clinically confident nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing exceptional end-of-life care. 💙

✔ Active Florida RN License (or Multistate Compact License)

✔ Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience

✔ Hospice and/or Palliative Care experience required

✔ Strong clinical assessment, triage, and decision-making skills

✔ Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

✔ Experience with EMR documentation systems

✔ Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance

⭐ Preferred:

• BSN degree
• CHPN certification
• Home Health or Hospice experience
• After-hours triage experience
