Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Designer for Sweaters to join our growing design team focused on the Junior women's market. This role will support the seasonal development of trend-forward sweater collections that align with our brand DNA while appealing to the needs of our retail partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in sweater construction, and proficient in Illustrator sketching, with a passion for knitwear innovation and commercial design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Design Director in the design and execution of seasonal sweater collections from concept through production, alongside the team
  • Maintain product development calendars and ensure timely delivery of design packages and samples
  • Track samples, updates, and vendor submissions to ensure consistency across styles and lines
  • Create clear and detailed flat sketches and technical design packages using Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems
  • Assist in yarn, gauge, stitch, and trim selection to ensure product aligns with brand and cost targets
  • Communicate clearly with overseas vendors on design intent, construction, and sampling needs
  • For styles selected, you're responsible for creating tags and completing Walmart paperwork
  • Research and identify emerging trends in the junior knitwear market to inform design direction, considering competitors and across various market tiers

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in apparel, with a focus on sweaters or knitwear
  • Understanding of sweater construction, yarn types, gauge variations, and knitting techniques
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and tech pack creation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Application Requirements

Please submit a back-to-school mood board for the junior's sweater market. To coincide with the mood board, please also share 2-3 technical black and white sketches using Adobe Illustrator. Submit via the documents tab when applying.
