Houseperson

Position: Housekeeping Houseperson

Department: Housekeeping

Purpose: Work closely with Housekeeping associates, including but not limited to room attendants, seamstresses, and turndown attendants, each day and answering guest and associate calls and producing satisfactory results in response to the needs of both property and guests.

Reports To: Director of Housekeeping

Essential Functions:

Participate in Housekeeping Department meetings/huddle daily.
Communicate effectively with all departments.
Respond to all phone calls/requests on behalf of guests and other departments.
Maintain clear and efficient communication with the Front Desk and Engineering.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all working areas.
Work closely with other housekeeping associates, helping as needed.
Retrieve soiled linen and garbage from Guest Rooms and Room Attendants' carts and/or storage closets to dispose of through the linen chute or dumpsters.
Maintain hallways, reporting maintenance issues and special cleaning assignments (i.e., carpet cleaning or repainting areas)
Deliver guest amenities or special requests to guest rooms (i.e., rollaway beds, baby cribs, refrigerators, toothbrushes/toothpaste)
Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly projects as assigned by Housekeeping Managers/Supervisors
Clean stairwells, elevators, and hallways free from debris and room service trays
Maintain housekeeping supply storeroom by organizing new supplies upon delivery and restocking of floors

Qualifications:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in fluent English.
Ability to work days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
Previous experience as a coordinator and/or answering phones strongly preferred.
Ability to stand, bend, and do repetitive movements for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 20-25 pounds intermittently, and occasionally 50 pounds.
Ability to push and pull a housekeeping supply cart.
