Assistant Barge Foreman Job Description:
The Assistant Foreman/Straw Boss helps the Foreman supervise and coordinate the work and personnel on a project.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in planning, implementing, and managing tasks in accordance with project priorities and goals.
- Assist in ensuring all Safe Work Practices are utilized and enforced.
- Assist the Foreman in working closely with the Project Team in planning, executing, and completing projects.
- Helps to adhere to project schedules.
- Assist in managing and guiding the use of machinery and equipment.
- Mitigate and resolve emerging problems and issues.
- Able to perform job in a safe and expedient manner.
- Participate in and promote utilization of the BBI Take 5 Program.
Competencies:
- Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb and descent multiple flights of stairs.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
