SUMMARY:

Responsibilities including telephone triage, screening and counseling, as well as face to face evaluations including obtainment of psychosocial histories, development of a crisis intervention team plan, crisis stabilization counseling for both adults, children and their families in crisis and facilitation of dispositions.   May provide consultation to other therapists, agencies or families and provide short term individual or family therapy.  This is an in-person position which must work assigned set work schedule.  This is an essential position and may require night and weekend shifts based on program needs.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Triage phone calls and walk-ins. Provides pre-screening to determined level of services warranted.   Provides telephone support, referrals, education and consultation to clients, family members, community agencies and other professionals.
  • Exhibits friendly, cooperative manner on phone and in person.
  • Is viewed as “approachable” and helpful to clients and professionals seeking information or consultation.
  • Uses clinical skills to gather information needed to make a determination of services needed.
  • Accepts and evaluates all clients seeking services, regardless of presenting problem, demographic, or any other individual characteristic.      
  1. Performs crisis evaluations, utilizing established crisis evaluation instrument to conduct interviews. Completes all aspects of evaluation process as instructed and required, including but not limited to: clinical assessment, clinical formulation, collateral contacts, therapeutic interventions, risk assessment, documentation, diagnosis, consultation with licensed supervisor or on-call, and disposition planning. Is responsive to risk and safety concerns.
  2. Performs short-term crisis follow-ups and crisis stabilization interventions.
  3. Actively collaborates with clients and families in distress, include clients and families in disposition planning, and demonstrate clinical competence in relation to cultural diversity and variations in family structures. Maintains competency around the centering of family voice and choice, and maintains competency around guardianship for both minors and adults.
  4. Provide supportive interventions to clients and families and provide resources and referrals as clinically indicated.
  5. Arrive and remain for the duration of scheduled shifts, as designated by leadership and aligned with 24/7/365 program coverage expectations.
  6. Evaluations may be conducted both on-site and in the community. Travel to community locations to complete evaluations is expected.
  7. Complete all assigned trainings and maintain recertifications as instructed and required.
  8. Attend staff meetings, individual supervision, and other group and individual meetings as assigned.
  9. Maintain awareness of program expectations, requirements, and workflows, as provided during orientation and on an ongoing basis by program leadership.
  10. Performs other duties/projects as assigned.                        

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or other similar field required. Degree must be from an accredited university and meet the requirements for independent licensure.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a Crisis Intervention or similar setting, or related field placement in Crisis Intervention setting.
  • Demonstrated experience and training in assessing adults, children, and families.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required

CLINICAL SUPERVISION:

  • All students and all full-time clinical staff shall receive at least weekly supervision from licensed and qualified mental health professionals. Part-time clinical staff shall receive supervision on a prorated basis commensurate with the weekly hours they work.
  • Aspire clinical program directors reserve the right to alter weekly individual clinical supervision for independently licensed clinicians to either group only supervision, or less frequent supervision based upon level of clinical knowledge and years of experience in the field.

Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, and certifications and licenses.  Annual ranges listed are based on a full-time, 40 hours per week position.

Salary Range
$31.32$45.67 USD
