Charge Registered Nurse - Cardiac Medicine/Progressive Care

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, experienced, patient focused Charge Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Medicine/Progressive Care Unit and make a difference for our patients and our community. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. 

Our patient population on South 8 includes patients requiring general medicine or progressive level of care. We care for patients with complex medical needs and co-morbidities, including CHF, NSTEMI, chest pain, coronary artery disease, post-intervention sheath management, COPD, pneumonia or other cardio-respiratory problems, End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), peritoneal dialysis, liver failure, alcohol withdrawal and/or other intoxicants and much more! It’s a great place to learn a wide variety of diseases processes and broaden clinical assessment skills. Our unit has a high number of daily admissions, discharges and transfers. South 8 also houses the remote telemetry cock pit which is staffed by specially trained PCAs who learn cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Work Schedule: 0.75 Nights. Every 3rd weekend rotation.

Required Qualifications: 

-Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience

-Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing

-Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
-CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
-Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

-BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
-Two (2) years experience in area of specialty preferred at 0.8 FTE, or above (minimum of 3328 hours).
