Automotive Technician (General Maintenance)

BELLAMY STRICKLAND CHEVROLET GMC is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician (General Maintenance) to join our team in McDonough, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance and repair of vehicles, demonstrating strong diagnostic and mechanical skills to ensure the highest quality service for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using specialized diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and official manufacturer repair guidelines.
• Perform regular maintenance services, including oil and filter changes, fluid flushes, tire rotations, balances, multi-point inspections, and brake pad/rotor replacements.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective automotive parts (suspension, steering, belts, hoses, and electrical components) according to factory standards.
• Maintain accurate, detailed digital and written records of all services performed, parts used, and inspection results on dealership repair orders.
•  Ensure all work is completed promptly, accurately, and thoroughly the first time, adhering strictly to dealership and manufacturer quality guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with Service Advisors regarding repair progress, diagnostic findings, or any recommended upsells/additional safety work.
• Follow all shop safety procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly, and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work bay.

Requirements

• Prior experience as an automotive technician or mechanic with knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification from an automotive training program or ASE certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
