UIM Claims Specialist

Position Summary: 

The UIM Claims Specialist I is responsible for locating and reporting insurance information via claims analysis and interactions with damagers. This position will also be responsible for assisting the UIM/Fixed-Object Recovery Supervisor with special assignments, as needed, as well as being proficient on all steps in the claims process.    

Essential Functions:  

• Take inbound calls for UIM and route caller to correct team member. 

• Utilize Beyond to cross reference insurance information on repeat damagers.   

• Analyze work activity to determine identity of damager. 

• Request Certificates of Insurance from . damagers.  

• Enter/update insurance information into Beyond.   

• Forward acquired documents for scanning.   

• Determine appropriate claim codes to update Beyond.    

• Assist supervisor and team members as requested.    

Skills and Competencies

Skills and Requirements: 

• Ability to effectively communicate in a professional and courteous manner   

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision   

• Ability to use online sources research 

• Accurate data review and data entry skills 

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel 

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word 

Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent  

• 2+ year of customer service experience required 

• 1 year plus of insurance experience is preferred
