Job description
Datmos brings together passionate experts who combine creativity and data to craft inspiring eCommerce experiences.
Driven by a shared passion for excellence, we help visionary brands grow by aligning commerce strategy, digital experience, and technology implementation to deliver innovative, data-driven digital commerce solutions.
The role
Datmos is hiring a Project Manager, reporting to the Delivery Director. This is an AI-first role: you'll help us rethink how we plan, staff and deliver our projects, using AI to handle the heavy lifting on planning, forecasting and reporting so people can focus on decisions.
Driven by a shared passion for excellence, we deliver data-driven, innovative digital commerce solutions for forward-thinking organizations across North America. As we grow, we are structuring how we plan, staff and steer all of our engagements.
In this role, you orchestrate resources across all of Datmos: in collaboration with the Delivery Directors, you assign who works on what, and when. You also manage client projects as a delivery project manager and lead the large-scale internal projects that evolve our organization, tools and ways of working.
Your responsibilities
Resource planning
- In collaboration with the Delivery Directors, assign resources from Datmos teams to client and internal projects, balancing priorities, skills and available capacity.
- Build stable, dedicated teams for our key clients, matching people on language, platform expertise and certifications.
- Maintain a 3-month view of capacity and workload, and flag upcoming staffing needs and gaps early.
- Track utilization against the targets set by Operations.
Client project delivery
- Own the delivery plan, schedule, risks and staffing for your portfolio of client projects.
- Forecast the remaining effort on fixed-price projects and flag variances early to account leadership, who manage scope, budget and profitability.
- Work closely with the product owners who lead client requirements and acceptance, to keep delivery on track.
- Apply our delivery practice, defined by the Delivery Director, and share lessons learned to help it evolve.
Internal projects
- Lead selected internal initiatives (tooling, processes, AI adoption) from scoping to close-out.
- Keep stakeholders aligned and report progress and risks to the Delivery Director.
Working AI-first
- Use AI assistants and agents daily to plan capacity, spot risks early and draft status reports, always reviewing their output.
- Help maintain our shared AI workflows, playbooks and templates, and bring improvement ideas to the Director.
Requirements and desired skills
- 5+ years of project management experience, including PMO, portfolio management or resource planning, ideally in an agency or digital professional services firm.
- Hands-on experience using generative AI tools (LLM assistants, agents, automations) in your daily work, with concrete examples of workflows you improved.
- Proven experience allocating resources across multiple teams and arbitrating between competing priorities.
- Experience leading internal or organizational transformation projects spanning several departments.
- Comfortable with planning and tracking tools (Jira, resource-planning tools such as Forecast or Float, advanced spreadsheets) and with analyzing KPIs (utilization, capacity, profitability).
- Good understanding of Agile and Scrum; PMP, PMI-ACP or PSM certification — an asset.
- Experience with automation, data or scripting (e.g. SQL, Python, Zapier or similar workflow tools, AI workflows) — an asset.
- Knowledge of the eCommerce ecosystem (Magento, Shopify, commercetools, Akeneo, PIM, DAM, ERP) — an asset.
- Excellent communication, influence-without-authority and negotiation skills.
- Bilingual in English and French, written and spoken.
