Something special is coming to Muncie—and we’re looking for a Chief Engineer to help bring it to life. The Cantio, a new 97-room boutique hotel in the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will welcome guests with inviting places to stay, dine, and gather—from a cozy café to a rooftop restaurant and lounge.

At The Cantio you’ll help prepare the hotel for its very first guests. Your expertise, care, and attention to detail will help turn a beautiful new building into a place where people feel comfortable, welcome, and ready to return.

How You’ll Make a Difference

Get us opening-day ready. Help prepare building systems, organize the maintenance shop, and establish preventive maintenance programs.
Keep every space at its best. Oversee hands-on maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, grounds, and back-of-house spaces.
Put your expertise to work. Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and fire/life-safety systems.
Lead with care. Train, schedule, and develop the maintenance team while building a culture of safety and teamwork.
Protect what we’re building. Manage budgets, tools, inventory, vendors, contractors, and improvement projects while supporting energy efficiency.
Be someone others can count on. Respond to maintenance emergencies and guest concerns, and maintain compliance with applicable safety and building requirements.

What You Bring

3+ years of progressive maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in hospitality.
Strong knowledge of building systems and a practical, hands-on approach to repairs.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
A commitment to safety, teamwork, and caring for both people and the property.
Previous supervisory experience preferred; hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred.
A valid driver’s license.
EPA Refrigerant Certification and CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

This role involves lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, working in varying conditions, and safely using maintenance tools and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
