2027 AWA Internship & Practicum: Work with Adolescents in a PHP/IOP Setting

At Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA), learning never stops, and neither does our commitment to growing the next generation of clinicians. Our year-round practicum and internship program gives graduate students real, hands-on clinical experience in adolescent mental health, backed by a team that genuinely wants to see you thrive. **About the Program** AWA is a Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment center serving adolescents ages 13-17 and their families. Interns don't just observe from the sidelines. You become part of the clinical team, learning alongside licensed supervisors and taking on real responsibility as you grow. You'll get hands-on exposure to individual, family, and group therapy, treatment team meetings and collaborative care planning, crisis intervention and safety protocols, admissions, assessments, and documentation, and evidence-based modalities including DBT, CBT, and MI. We believe great clinicians are built through mentorship, curiosity, and real practice, not just textbooks. Every placement is grounded in our values: Choose Kindness, Deliver Results, Spread Optimism, and Contribute to the Whole. **Eligibility** **Placement & Scheduling** Applications are accepted year-round. We're currently full for Spring 2027 and now accepting applications for Summer 2027. Spots are limited and vary by location and semester. Schedules are coordinated based on university requirements and program needs. This is an unpaid clinical training experience. **Application Review** Spots fill fast given our limited capacity, so we encourage you to apply early. If selected to move forward, we'll be in touch. We're grateful for every student who wants to grow with us and make a difference for teens and families. **Learn More:** Adolescent Wellness Academy
