Surgical Support Tech Extern (PRN) - Carolina Forest

Responsibilities

1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer service toward patients, visitors and team members in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
2. Assist in safe lifting, positioning, preparing and supporting patients for surgical procedures using proper body mechanics.
3. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment free of clutter.  Takes appropriate actions to correct potential hazards.
4. Monitors work area to ensure equipment is in the correct location.
5. Assists with setting up of OR space for patient procedures.
6. Escalates concerns around unsafe conditions.
7. Demonstrates understanding of established emergency procedures, infection control practices and applicable OSHA standards.
8. Work involves inventorying, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and maintaining operating room equipment.
9. Assists with preparation, set up, and cleaning up of surgical supplies and equipment.
10. Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when working around or handling hazardous substances including blood and body fluids.
11. Transports blood and specimens to/from the perioperative area and laboratory.
12. Must be flexible, punctual, and willing to learn.
13. Performs other position related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

Qualifications:

On the job training will be necessary

License/Certification/Registration/Education:

HS diploma required
