Sworn Law Enforcement Officer

Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.

• Patrol JCC facilities and grounds, inspect buildings and access points, and identify conditions that may affect the safety of members, visitors, and staff.
• Monitor surveillance systems and respond to alarms, suspicious activity, disturbances, and requests for assistance.
• Enforce applicable Texas laws and city and county ordinances within the officer’s legal authority.
• Assist contract security personnel and JCC staff with enforcing JCC policies, addressing violations, and resolving safety concerns.
• Respond to emergencies, assess the situation, take appropriate action, and coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and medical responders.
• Interview victims and witnesses, preserve relevant evidence, and prepare accurate, timely incident reports.
• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during daily operations, programs, and special events.
• Report incidents, significant enforcement actions, equipment problems, and emerging safety concerns to the Director of Security and Chief of Facilities.
• Maintain current active shooter response training, including ALERRT, and participate in required drills and refresher training.
• Maintain a professional and approachable law enforcement presence while supporting a safe, welcoming environment across JCC facilities.

Qualifications

Must be a certified/licensed law enforcement officer.

Successful completion of a TCOLE-licensed Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) at an approved training academy or college.
