Position Title: SMCC Sports Assistant

Reports to: SMCC Sports Director

Basic Purpose

Summarize the highlights of

the position in terms of basic

purpose and what it is supposed to accomplish.

-        Support the Sports Director in planning and executing the Preschool Mid-Week Sports Camp, delivering an enriching program that introduces foundational athletic skills and sports to preschool-aged children.

Key Role

-        The SMCC Sports Assistant will help plan and run the Preschool Sports Mid-week camp program, alongside the SMCC Sports Director.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provide a few key metrics

APPLICABLE TO THE JOB which best describe its size and effect on the business (i.e. Operating Budget, Income)

-        Help set up the gym for the week’s activities

-        Actively encourage and assist the children in completing various drills

-        Coach children in the correct way to complete various drills

-        Re-set the gym at the conclusion of the program

-        Pick-up and drop-off children in the preschool hallway

-        Communicate children’s activities with parents

 

Other Responsibilities

-        Occasionally assist the SMCC team in other tasks within the SMCC

List skills and knowledge required to perform the job effectively (i.e., Excel, Powerpoint, functional policy knowledge). Describe any other important aspects of this position

-        Basic understanding of various sports

-        Basic understanding of athletic movement

-        Ability to communicate with preschool aged children

-        Strong behavior management skills

-        Maintain good relationship with SMCC staff

Education & Experience

What type and level of training, experience and/or certifications are required to perform this job

-        Completed HS or HS equivalent

-        Experience working with Children
