Lead Sterile Processing Technician - Days - SPD

This job is responsible to ensure that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and traced in a quality/timely manner throughout the hospital. Works independently with little supervision. Supervises others to ensure all tasks within Sterile Processing are completed to meet customer expectations. Qualified to train, mentor and develop others. Serves as a resource to other Sterile Processing employees and customers. Interacts and problem solves extensively with the Operating Room personnel.

    • High school graduate or GED 
    • Three years instrumentation experience in a hospital setting required
    • 1 year of recent work experience in Central Sterile Processing
    • Certified Central Service Technician certification
    • 6 months to 1 year in a lead/supervisory capacity
    • Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service, preferred
    • Basic computer knowledge 
    • Knowledge of computerized instrument tracking system(s) preferred
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Good verbal and written communications skills (English)
    • Self-motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision
    • Able to work standing
