AUTISM SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (Elmont, NY)

• This shift is 30 hours a week overnight Thursday - Saturday 11p-9a

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience assisting persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism
• Ability to support people with Autism and people who may display challenging behaviors
• SCIP Certified preferred
• Successfully complete the medication administration (AMAP) course and annual recertification
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to learn how to document services electronically
• Valid Driver’s License required

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide ongoing oversight to people living in the residence
• Implement Person Centered Residential Habilitation Plans
• Provide training and support for each person in accordance with the individual personalized program plan
• Have scheduling flexibility; may be required to work beyond the normal shift
• Drive agency vans and demonstrate safe driving practices
