Staff Registered Nurse for ED (58656)

Essential Functions: 

• Performs triage by collecting current information, as well as a detailed patient history and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), triage level system.
• Performs patient care and patient care procedures, including IV therapy, wound cleansing and dressing, immobilizations, medication administration and assessments, reassessments and discharge education.
• Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes the patient until seen by the provider, based upon nursing standards and protocols
• Provides any and all ACLS/PALS interventions
• Works directly under physicians, assisting with exams, diagnostic testing and treatment
• Documents on the EMR systems, appropriately and completely on patients.
• Delegates tasks to Paramedics, LPNs & CNAs, as needed
• Communicates and collaborates with other staff members, patients, family/visitors and other departments within the hospital
• Any and all other duties assigned by Nurse Manager

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Education:  Associates or Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited nursing school
• Licensure in Kentucky or Compact State License
• BLS, ACLS, PALS. TNCC preferred or required within 1 year of employment.
• Experience: Two years minimum experience in ED required
