Hot Plant Laborer (Dickerson & Bowen)

D&B is a leading provider of aggregates, asphalt and asphalt paving services in central and southern Mississippi. D&B operates four asphalt plants and two active sand and gravel plants and is a natural extension to our recently established Southeast platform, further strengthening our vertically integrated footprint. 

General Summary

Performs any combination of following tasks, such as repairing, cleaning, maintaining, washing, and loading. 

Essential Job Accountabilities 

• Daily housekeeping at plant site and tool rooms. 

• Lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies. 

• Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. 

• Visually inspect equipment and inform of repairs needed 

• Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as repairing material leaks, repairing/replacing belts, preventive maintenance, greasing, and cleaning. 

• Adhere to all safety expectations and guidelines. 

 

Education 

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience 
• Must have valid Driver’s License

 

Work Experience 

• On the job training required. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

 

Workers should be able to: 

• Follow specific directions 
• Perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy 
• Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure 
• Evaluate information using measurable standards. 

 

Physically, workers must be able to: 

• Stand or walk for long periods 

• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects 

• Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds 

• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment 

• Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see (naturally or with correction).
