Overview

A Kitchen Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas. This role is essential to the success of kitchen operations, ensuring team members have the clean tools and equipment needed to provide exceptional food service. The Kitchen Dishwasher supports the culinary team by maintaining a safe, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with company standards and health regulations.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using dishwashing machines and manual cleaning methods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen, storage rooms, and waste disposal areas.
• Properly handle, sort, and store clean dishes, cookware, and kitchen supplies.
• Remove trash and recycling, ensuring waste is disposed of according to established procedures.
• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, floors, walls, walk-in coolers, and other designated areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Support kitchen staff with basic cleaning and organizational tasks as needed.
• Monitor dishwashing chemicals and cleaning supplies, reporting inventory needs to management.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and properly handling equipment.

 

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to support the overall team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
