Accounting -Patient Accounts Supervisor

JSSA is looking for an experienced healthcare billing supervisor to join our patient accounts team full-time in our Rockville office. This role will report to the Director of Patients Accounts and supervise a team of patient account specialists; oversee the posting of insurance and client payments to the proper accounts; review client and third-party billing/collection activities; deal with complicated denials; analyze aging receivable; and monitor the automated data entry activities.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Assist team with system issues to record/reconcile activities in clients’ accounts
Review the AR weekly to resolve outstanding AR
Verify client’s eligibility and benefits and obtain necessary authorizations for all payers as needed
Generate weekly batches to be submitted to insurance and follow up on held claims
Review and approve Patient Statements prior to mailing
Oversee insurance/client posting payments activities performed by Patient Accounts staff
Review client and third-party billings for accuracy
Make corrections to billings and client accounts as needed
Work closely with the department clinicians to resolve third party payer issues
Answer incoming client and third-party inquiries via phone and/ or mail correspondence.
Identify and resolve credit balance accounts.
Process account adjustments, which correspond with payments and denials received from insurance companies.

Qualifications:

AA or BS Degree
Minimum of five years’ experience processing third party billings and collecting appropriate reimbursement and 2 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of third-party billing and reimbursement requirements.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience with electronic billing
