Laboratory Technician

To provide technical support and assistance to Clinical Lab Scientists and/or Medical Lab Technicians. To effectively and efficiently process laboratory specimens for analysis and pre- and post-analytically. To accurately convey information regarding specimens and testing. This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements. Employees will be required to perform any job, with related instruction given by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation.

• Set up, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment as identified in the department. (20%)
• Prepare specimens for automated analyzer. (20%)
• Assist in monitoring product quality to ensure compliance to lab standards and specifications. (10%)
• Order inventory materials to maintain supplies, such as reagent stocking, consumables management, and various other sundries. (15%)
• Isolate, identify, and prepare specimens for examination. (10%)
• Clean, maintain, and prepare supplies and work areas. (10%)
• Track missing and pending work and the logical process to locate missing/pending work. (15%)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum:

• Use of computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred:

• Familiarity with healthcare and customer service. Biological science experience.
